Course Description

Measuring the development impact of an NDB is crucial to accountability and demonstrating performance against mandates increasingly aligned with the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This training program can be summarized in two parts. The first half of the course focuses on laying the foundation for measuring development impact, covering strategic topics such as the role NDBs play in development and the SDGs, why measuring development impact is critical, and the strategic frameworks required. The second half of the course then guides participants in learning how to construct and implement a best practice development impact measurement system within their institution. This half of the course covers the process of measuring development impact from start to finish, including policy implementation, determining key performance indicators, developing a theory of change and results framework, and how to effectively monitor and report data.
